Shannon began her career with Fairmont over 11 years ago at the Fairmont Royal York in Toronto.  Working her way through Housekeeping, Guest Services and Front Office, Shannon brings a well-rounded focus to the entire guest experience from reservation to departure as she welcomes her conference and group guests to the Lodge.  Joining the Conference Services Team at JPL in 2019, Shannon enjoys returning to her Special Events roots prior to joining the Fairmont brand.  Always looking forward to surprising and delighting her guests and clients with thoughtful and authentic details based on their group’s unique personality, Shannon enjoys ensuring each of her group’s individual needs are met and they depart from their Jasper program looking forward to their next return.

KATHRYN ABEYSEKERA

Wedding & Catering Manager

Born and raised in Vancouver, BC, Kathryn made the move to Jasper to join the Fairmont family last September.  She learned early on that she had a knack for planning events, so after graduating from the University of British Columbia, she started her own wedding planning company to pursue her lifelong love of weddings.  Kathryn has been using her talents to plan and execute weddings for the past seven years. She is fueled by her passion for connecting with every client that walks through those lobby doors.  She values the individuality of each couple and will take the time to make their unique vision come to life.  She is happiest when she is using all of her different skills towards a happy purpose, creating memories for their once in a lifetime event.  Working in this industry means she gets to do more of what she loves and it means connecting with amazing people on the daily
