JASPER AB, December 4, 2020 – The historic Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge (JPL) truly comes alive with the Spirit of Christmas and while the festive season is all about tradition, this year is more about traditions with a twist.  Guests can enjoy festive activities with a hearty dose of cheer, reimagined holiday offers planned with guest safety in mind, holiday favourite tasty treats and so much more. Located in the land of a million Christmas trees, JPL makes the most magical setting for which families can create memories to last a lifetime.

WHERE TO DINE

NEW – The Thompson’s Chalet
Surrounded by the snow-covered landscape of the Jasper Park Lodge Golf Club, Thompson’s Chalet offers a brand new dining experience. After a long day of mountain adventures, guests are welcomed to the Veuve Clicquot “In The Snow” après experience. Later in the evening, guests can indulge in traditional alpine cuisine including savoury fondues, jagerschnitzel, and bratwurst. Of course, the night would not be complete without Chef’s favourite chocolate fondue!

The Beauvert Dining Room
Guests will enjoy a thoughtfully prepared Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year’s Eve menu paired with undeniably dreamy evening views from the grand dining room. The Beauvert Dining Room offers up large picture windows and 40-foot high ceilings, setting the stage for an unforgettable Christmas tradition. Reservations will be required for each of the following dinners: 

• Christmas Eve Dinner – 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. $99 per adult, $55 per child (6-12). See Menu
• Christmas Day Dinner – 5:30 p.m.- 9:30 p.m. $119 per adult & $60 per child (6-12). See Menu
• New Year’s Eve Dinner – 8:00 p.m. $199 per person. See Menu

FESTIVE ACTIVITIES

Santa’s Cabin
Santa and Mrs. Claus are checking in to their favourite Jasper Park Lodge cabin, the historic Courtview Cabin, where they’ll stay from December 19-25.  Families are invited to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus for a socially distanced selfie with the famous festive duo daily between 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. December 19 to 24, and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Christmas Day.

Christmas Eve Stocking Decorating 
Guests of all ages are welcome to create their very own stocking masterpiece. Once all of the stockings are complete they will be taken away and returned later that evening filled with tasty treats. Decorating will take place on December 24 in the following time slots – 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m., 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m and 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Letters to Santa 
Guests with little ones are asked to drop letters in Santa’s mailbox located outside of the Health Club from December 21-24, between 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. A personalized reply from Santa himself will arrive via Reindeer Airmail the next day.

Holiday Family Photo
Guests are welcome to visit Orso Trattoria in their festive best on December 24 & 25 between 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. for a family photo! The photo will be printed on the spot and is complimentary for all hotel guests.

NEW – New Year’s Eve Light Experience
On December 31 from 9:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. the Beauvert Plateau will be transformed into an immersive light experience created by artist Dylan Toymaker. Dylan’s designs are original art and inspirations come from almost anywhere including exploring Dutch folk art, the Renaissance and mandalas. At the heart of this experience guests will find a large ice sculpture that will have a fire lit from within.

Jasper Park Stables | Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides
Jasper Park Stables will be returning to the Lodge to whisk away guests on a horse-drawn wagon ride through a magical winter wonderland. The Stables will be offering daily wagon rides at 2:00 p.m., 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Except December 20 when they will be available at 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.

Please rest assured that extensive measures are being taken to protect guests and employees. In that regard, the hotel has modified the festive programming to ensure activities and experiences are both safe and fun. As such, details are subject to change as with any regulations put forth by the Government of Alberta.
