Michelin Star trained Chef to lead JPL’s Culinary Team –

Jasper AB, November 27, 2020 – Harris Sakalis has been appointed Executive Chef for Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge (JPL) effective November 23, 2020. As Executive Chef, he will be at the helm of JPL’s culinary operations, crafting and implementing future trends in for Outlets and Banquet Events. Harris’ creativity and experience will be pivotal in enhancing JPL’s reputation as an exciting food and beverage destination within the mountain region for years to come.

Harris began his culinary career in 2001 at the Sani Resort in Chalkidiki, Greece. In 2003, he joined his first luxury hotel in Thessaloniki, Greece and specialized in French cuisine. From 2004 to2009, Chef Harris relocated to the United States and worked at three renowned Michelin Star restaurants; Café Boulud, Oceana, and Anthos. Harris moved back to Greece in 2009 then joined Rosewood Hotels & Resorts in 2012 as Task Force as Executive Chef at the Jumy Bay Resort. Later in 2012, he transferred to Rosewood Abu Dhabi where he held the positions of Chef de Cuisine then Chef De Cuisine Banquet.

Chef Harris began his career with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in 2016 as the Executive Sous Chef for Fairmont Southampton Bermuda and was then promoted to his most recent capacity of Executive Chef.

Harris is a graduate from the Culinary Arts program at Schools of Tourism Education in Heraklion, Greece. He holds certificates of Classical Cakes Tortes and Tarts, Baking and Pastry for Chefs, Small Dishes Big Flavors and Frontline Leadership skills, and continuing education programs from the Culinary Institute of America, CIA Hyde Park New York. Currently he is working on his certificate on Hospitality Management with E-Cornell University.
